Cyclops has had a bit of a makeover in the last few years, but don’t worry – it’s still the monster it was always meant to be.
Columbus, Idaho 7 and Mosaic hops work together to give this IPA classic-West-Coast-with-a-modern-twist vibes. Idaho 7 brings new school fruity flair, and Mosaic brings – well, it brings Mosaic-ness – but the Columbus keeps the old school herbal, resiny dankness that Helios fans love.
A hit of crystal malt helps to keep the classic vibes going as well, holding up a touch of pawpaw and some sweet dankness alongside fresh citrus character. While Cyclops’ bitterness has been toned down a little since its origin, it’s still punchy. Though perhaps that’s the wrong word, since it’s not as jolty as a punch… more like a leg lock, slowly getting more intense and making you wonder if you’ll manage to come out on top, or if it’ll reach a point where you have to tap out. Or pass out.
