Sydney brewers Rocks have teamed up with harbour city restaurateurs Lotus Dining Group to drop a rice lager designed to sit alongside dumplings, noodles and anything that comes out of a wok steaming hot: The Golden Lotus Rice Lager.
The cans feature gorgeous art that, if I saw it on stationery I'd snap it up, and pours the pale colour of a haystack. Make your way past the crisp malt aromas and on the tongue The Golden Lotus is a little bit of lots of things. A little sweet, little bitter, with a light sharpness that gives it enough edge to stand out next to some gyoza, sticky pork, black pepper beef and... actually, I’m going to stop there before I get carried away again.
Plus, at just 4.5 percent ABV, this refreshing beer can sit alongside a dish stacked with swelteringly hot chillies and quench the flames without ending your night before mochi.
