The story of Bridge Road Brewers has long been a tale of innovation. They were early adopters of those new Aussie hops grown down the road and have always been eager to get their hands on new hop products (and yeast for that matter). But for winter 2024, they’ve brewed a winter warmer that's entirely classic, the humble Stout.
Looking at the can, even the design is a bit of a throwback, with the font bringing to mind an old Stephen King novel grabbed from an op shop before a long holiday or the more modern, completely nostalgic and equally-suitable vacation activity, Stranger Things. As for the contents of the tin, it's everything you want in such a beer. It's super roasted while the richness is akin to a Milo served with a ludicrous stack of powder as a dry finish and lasting bitterness keeps pulling you back for more.
Classics stay classic for a reason.
