Bodriggy have plenty to celebrate at the moment, with the Melbourne brewery coming home from the Australian International Beer Awards with arms filled with medals. In March, they also took the plunge to become a carbon neutral brewery and Land Before Time is a beer created thanks to both of those moment. While at the awards, Bodriggy got chatting with one of Australia's leading regenerative breweries, Rocky Ridge, and the breweries decided to work on a beer together. Naturally, it's an imperial fruited sour featuring blackcurrant, raspberry and some cocao nibs. It's cetainly a winter sour too and pours somewhere between pink and purple while being a very smoothie-like creation, providing a thick and creamy mouthfeel, loads of berry flavour and an underlying sweetness that's wonderfully balanced by the lasting tartness.
Bodriggy are also spending some time celebrating the booziest member of their core range, Cosmic Microwave. Naturally they've done that by turning the alcohol up, alongside the amount of oats in the malt bill while staying faithful to the original's heavy use of Idaho 7, Bru-1 and Citra. Sure, it might be bigger and stronger but Cosmic Microwave Hazy IIPA is certainly not over the top; intestead it's incredibly well-integrated and filled with juicy notes of passionfruit, mango, guava and stonefruit. Naturally, that makes it a fitting celebrating of their longstanding NEIPA.
