FogHorn Brewhouse is one of the most exciting additions to Newcastle's beer scene in recent years, and they're looking for a passionate and skilled Bar Manager to lead their team of beer lovers.

JOB DESCRIPTION: BAR MANAGER (NSW)

An exciting opportunity for a craft beer experienced Bar Manager to join our award winning, fast growing, beer loving team.

FogHorn Brewhouse opened our onsite brewery and 250 seat brewhouse restaurant with 17 taps in 2015 and our Erina Central Coast venue opened in 2016 whilst during 2017 we have moved into local keg wholesale operations while consistently picking up medals for our beer and our venue in a historic restored warehouse building.  Come on board and make history with us.

We are looking for decisive, motivated and friendly leader who is part of a high performing management team, who understand the need to execute and deliver consistent customer service of the highest standard.

We believe that if our staff are happy & enjoying themselves in our unique venues, then customers will feel that and want to come back again and again to see our ever changing range of craft beers and house made food items!

Your responsibilities as Bar Manager will be:

  • Maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction at all times meeting the FogHorn standard.
  • Lead and support the venue in the achievement of financial budgets, operational targets and KPI's
  • Manager on our Foghorn Brewhouse Liquor License.
  • Experience delivering cost effective BOH operations such as; Stock Management, Ordering, Rostering Costing, Pricing
  • Experience in Managing / Supervising a team
  • Recruitment and induction of floor and bar staff and ongoing monitoring and training of existing staff
  • Maintain a harmonious team environment and order of service via constant communication with floor, bar and kitchen
  • Managing entertainment and events, working with our Functions Coordinator.
  • Ongoing product knowledge and training to increase staff knowledge and maximise sales
  • Assist in planning for future development of products, facilities and service improvements, menu and concepts, creating a destination of choice for our customers
  • Experience in Managing / Supervising a team
  • The ability to effectively communicate with the Management team, kitchen, staff and clients, in order to build rapport, work efficiently and gain respect

To be a successful applicant you must possess the following:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
  • A passion for craft beer, food, wine and great service
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • An approachable and friendly personality
  • Team orientated with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant environment whilst maintaining a personable and friendly manner about yourself
  • Neat and tidy appearance
  • Flexible working availability
  • Strong ambitions within the hospitality industry
  • Extensive knowledge and passion about the industry, local competitors and "what's on trend"
